Classroom Profiles

A classroom profile is a reusable teaching context. It tells the AI who you are planning for, what subject and curriculum you follow, and what support needs are common in the room.

Profiles do not store individual student data. They store anonymized group summaries so your plans are realistic and useful from the start.

Why profiles matter

When you generate a plan, the AI uses your profile to:

  • Choose age-appropriate language and examples.
  • Align content to the right curriculum outcomes.
  • Apply differentiation and support flags.
  • Match the correct terminology for your region.

Create one profile for each teaching group, then select it whenever you plan.

How to create a profile

  1. Go to Classroom Profiles and click New Profile.
  2. Enter the profile name, for example “Year 5 Science” or “Grade 7 Math”.
  3. Select the grade or year group.
  4. Pick the subject.
  5. Choose the curriculum you teach, for example Common Core, NGSS, or a UK national curriculum.
  6. Add a learners summary with anonymized group information such as general attainment level, common support needs, or typical EAL distribution.
  7. Choose the pedagogical scheme you prefer, for example explicit instruction, 5E, or backward design.

Differentiation and support flags

Profiles can include anonymized support counts. These are stored as group-level information only:

  • IEP/504 or SEND/EHCP count
  • EAL/ELL tiers
  • Gifted learner count
  • Sensory or reading support preferences

The AI uses these flags to suggest scaffolds, accommodations, or extension tasks without identifying individual students.

Terminology that auto-switches

When you select a UK curriculum, the app automatically changes wording across the planner and tools:

  • “Grade” becomes Year group
  • “IEP/504” becomes SEND/EHCP
  • “ELL” becomes EAL
  • Other regional labels update throughout the interface

You do not need to change settings. The app matches terminology to the curriculum you selected.

Multi-subject contexts

You can create a profile for a single subject, or choose a multi-subject context if you teach the same group across several subjects. This is useful for primary teachers or form tutors.

Editing and managing profiles

  • Open a profile from the list to edit any field.
  • Rename, duplicate, or delete profiles from the actions menu.
  • Changes apply to new plans. Existing saved projects keep the context they were created with.

Free tier limit

On the free plan, you can create up to 3 classroom profiles. Upgrade to Pro or Pro+ Studio for unlimited profiles.
