Portfolio

The Portfolio is your homeschool record cabinet. It collects documentation and evidence of learning for each child, including saved plans and any generated artifacts you want to keep.

What the Portfolio Is

A homeschool portfolio can mean many things, but in this app it is a central place to review what your children have learned and what you have planned. It organizes your saved plans, generated resources, and learning evidence so you can see progress over time.

For parents who need to submit records to a local authority or prepare for an annual review, the Portfolio helps keep everything in one place.

Stats Overview

At the top of the Portfolio, you will see a stats overview that summarizes your family’s records. This may include:

  • How many plans have been saved.
  • How many children have portfolios.
  • Recent activity or newly generated artifacts.

The overview helps you quickly see what is complete and what still needs attention.

Per-Child Cards

Each child has their own portfolio card. These cards group together the plans and artifacts saved for that child, making it easy to review one learner at a time.

Inside a child’s portfolio, you can find:

  • Lesson plans saved from the Planner.
  • Multi-lesson units and targeted practice sets.
  • Generated resources from the Learning Tools, such as readings, quizzes, and rubrics.

This keeps each child’s learning journey organized and easy to review.

Saving Plans to the Portfolio

When you generate a plan in the Planner and save it to the Family Library, it automatically appears in the relevant child’s portfolio. You do not need to move files around manually.

If a plan no longer fits your needs, you can remove it from the portfolio. Removing a plan does not delete the child’s profile or other saved items.

Using the Portfolio for Record Keeping

Many homeschool families use a portfolio to show progress over the year. You can use this section during:

  • Mid-year reviews.
  • End-of-year evaluations.
  • Compliance reporting, alongside the Compliance Tracker.
  • Family discussions about what your child has accomplished.

Coming Soon

The Portfolio will continue to grow. Future features include:

  • File uploads: Add photos, scanned work, or outside documents directly to a child’s portfolio.
  • PDF, DOCX, and ZIP exports: Bundle selected records into a downloadable package for reviews or reporting.
  • Shareable links: Send a curated collection to evaluators, co-op leaders, or family members.

These additions will make it even easier to build a complete record of your homeschool year.

Tips for a Useful Portfolio

  • Save plans regularly so the portfolio stays current.
  • Add notes to saved items while the details are fresh.
  • Review each child’s portfolio at the end of every term or quarter.
  • Use the portfolio alongside your Compliance Tracker to make sure you have the evidence you need for reporting.
